Heather Thompson VanderMyde

I'm originally from Thomasville, NC, but I have lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina for 15 years, now with my husband and business partner John, and our two year old son Ike.

I attended The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where I played basketball for the Lady Tar Heels.  After graduating, I moved to the Outer Banks for a job with Kitty Hawk Land Company, and learned the business of Real Estate under well known developer Mickey Hayes.

After 8 years with KHLC, I decided to start my own office with RE/MAX.  I eventually had a real estate team consisting of  two assistants and 3 agents, and I earned the highest RE/MAX award, The Hall of Fame for 2005. We rode the real estate bubble until the beginning of 2006, when my husband and I decided to sell the business to one of our agents.  I needed a break from real estate and managing a team, so I took a year off and studied Yoga. I found myself in a jungle in Costa Rica, and earned my teaching certificate at Nosara Yoga Teacher Training with Don and Amba Stapleton.

I am now back with REMAX Ocean Realty, but this time with no assistants or team except for John, and to stay balanced, I teach yoga, and host yoga retreats.

If you'd like an agent with the experience of a top producer, the drive of an athlete, and the wisdom that comes with so many years of selling OBX real estate... then give me a call at RE/MAX (252) 441-2450 or text my cell (252) 202-2375 and we'll get started!

basketball career, and the one on the right was in Chicago working at Michael Jordan's Basketball Camp.
