These first three were commissioned by "Marshes Light"
a new, downtown, architecturally controlled, waterfront community in Manteo

These are designs "in progress" for Marshes Light, the first is a replica of the George Washington Creef House,
 the second is a garage with a mother in law suite for the Coors Model Home, and the third is a concept of a "Craftsman Style" home.

The above pictures are examples of what I can do with a design... it's important to the Town of Manteo & the Manteo Way of Building Committee that
new homes in Marshes Light reflect traditional Manteo design, so I took pictures of homes on the adjacent street and placed my model in them to see how it would fit.

I've designed & built (I'm licensed as a General Contractor) five homes and several additions:

I had a strange run of designing and building three homes on the same hilltop in Duck - the first "DuckView" on Gifford Ct. I sold, 
then I modified the design slightly to fit on a Cook Dr. lot, one street over, the "TarValier" which Heather and I still own.
Then a friend of mine talked me into building on a 55' high lot one street south of Gifford - 110 Marlin Drive.
I built the "DuckView" house with a wrap around porch and an elevator; I am quite proud of it. 

The last house I built by myself as a contractor is "Sea Shelter" for long time clients Fran & Jack Laser in South Nags Head.

It was a long and difficult build, mostly due to interference from a politically connected neighbor who didn't like the amount of fill dirt used.
I decided to give up contracting after the stress of the experience and focus on design - my next two designs were built in Beacon Hill, Corolla, 
by a company I formed with two of my framers, Matt Davies and Trevor Mulikin - DVM Building Innovations.

       This is my first one, "Otter Creek" on the sound front,
and even though we don't live there anymore, it's still my favorite!
